Walnut Ridge High School Reviews

too many fights and drugs at this school just in a bad neighborhood

I personally like the school. I saw the posting that gave such a negative view of the teachers and I have to disagree. I have had two of my son's teachers call me. One because she saw a decline in his behavior and his grades and she was concerned about him and wanted to be able to help. and the second was because he wanted to talk to my son and encourage him to do his work. Plus one of teachers there has really helped him with extra tutoring and help. this has brought up his confidence and now he is doing great. We need to stand behind the school. If we take pride in the school, the kids will too.

I think the teachers need to be more involved rather then just being there in body. I must say however I have noticed a great improvement in the school this school year but there are definitely things that need to change in the teachers within this school. If the teachers would step up and do there jobs I think it would make for an even better enviroment for the kids. Rather then standing by and watching things happen within the school or on school grounds and not saying anything something must be done.

The Principal,Teachers and Parents need to work together as one support the Students.

i am very impressed with this schools progress. they have really improved over theis school year. the teachers are great im just really impressed. i am always involved with my son and he said he wouldnt want to go anywhere else.

The teachers are ok but not the kids, well there ok too. If you are nice to them. I like this school so far

I'm not a parent either yet,I share a different view of the school. Of course this isn't a perfect school. BUT there is worse. Walnut Ridge has exposed me to different cultures and people. Personally, I have had differnt types of teachers some who stay on your back, and others who leave the responsiblity to me to show up to class. I believe all students should be held accountable for there attendance and particapation in school. I have been at Walnut Ridge for two years and like all schools we have a few bad apples. However, those students should not reflect on the whole school. Walnut Ridge Scots should be known for there excellent sports program, availablity to music, art, activities, and leadership. So many people are quick to put our school down--- parents, community, news, even some of our own students. We should be recongized for some of the best coummnity services voulnteers and our ever-growing improvement.

I personally am not a parent. I am actually a student at this school currently. I must say that I am very unhappy with it's level of preformance with everything that goes on there. Teachers simply don't really care about anything but having the kids physically show up to class and the rest is lost to the wind. If you walk down the halls you can see 'business exchanges' taking place in the form of drugs and cigarettes. I am very unhappy with the quality of this school and it's lack of involvement in the student body life.
